SNOMED CT Compositional Grammar is defined in the IHTSDO Specification as:
“A formal compositional grammar which is used to represent SNOMED CT expressions. SNOMED CT expressions are a structured combination of one or more concept identifiers used to express a clinical idea”
This first use of the SCT Grammar in termSpace involves obtaining concept representations for pre-coordinated content, SNOMED CT content modeled in termSpace.
In the details of the concept, there is a new “Expressions” tab that displays three possible expression that can be created based on a pre-coordinated concept:
- Pre-coordinated expression: It’s a reference to a pre-coordinated concept, only the SCTID and the FSN are included.
- Stated concept definition expression: It’s an expression that displays the concept definition created from the stated relationships of the concept.
- Inferred concept definition expression: It’s an expression that displays the concept definition created from the inferred relationships of the concept.
